Title: Location of Savegames on Mac?
Post by: hmon on May 08, 2012, 09:23:42 pm
Hello,
I'm trying to transfer my Savegames from a Windows PC to Botanica on a Mac. Where can I find the Savegames on Mac?

Thank you in advance!

The file path is:
Code:
{YourHomeFolder}/Library/Application Support/Amanita Design/Botanicula

Note that the user's Library folder is hidden from view by default in Mac OS 10.7 (Lion) and above. If you're using 10.7 or above, this link will tell you how to find (or unhide) your Library folder:

Well, assuming you're following the file path, it should be there. ???
Try using Spotlight; search for: slotauto.bin.

Thanks for your help but there`s no slot auto.bin :-\

Not slot auto.bin. It's slotauto.bin with no space. (Put a space in there and it won't show up in the search.)

Eh, maybe you typed it right in Spotlight and it's still not showing up. You could try pressing Shift-Command-G while in the Finder. In the window, type "~/Library/Application Support/Amanita Design/Botanicula" (without quotes).

I`ve typed it without quotes but there`s no folder. I have a screenshot:

Ah. I'm assuming that the English word "Library" needs to be typed in German. So does "Application Support".

But that's not in your Home folder. =)
Look in the Library folder in your Home folder. (You're Home folder would be inside Benutzer.)

Huh. (And if it was there it would have shown up when you'd typed: ~/Library/Application Support/Amanita Design/Botanicula.)
You might try looking in the Dokumente folder that's inside your Home folder. Look for a folder that says BotaniculaSaves.

Well, I *hate* to give up, but... ???
One last thing you could do is to e-mail the developers using the form at the bottom of Amanita's 'About' page and ask them for help. Let them know you're using a Mac, and provide a link to this thread. And please post back if you find out anything. =)

Edit: Just to note that the contact form is now here: http://amanita-design.net/contact.html
