Title: Amanita Games on AppleTV?
Post by: dredlew on September 25, 2016, 09:12:31 am
My apologies if this has been already asked somewhere, the search didn't turn anything up, but are there any plans to bring the games to AppleTV?
I would love to play them on the big screen (I have a projector and almost 200" screen size ;D)!

With the AppleTV store being relatively new, there aren't too many elaborate point & click games available yet.
I think the Amanita games would be a great addition and I'm sure, would be instant favorites for many AppleTV users.

Thanks for these gorgeously creative games! They are absolutely amazing!

No idea, dredlew. ??? The developers don't comment on the forums much, so I would recommend that you use the contact form at the bottom of this page to ask them directly:

I asked them this as well. All Amanita games would look SO gorgeous on a big 50" screen and fun to play with the Siri Remote!

By the way, there are a few very nice point-&-click adventures on the Apple TV already:

  • Broken Age (https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/broken-age/id887649233?mt=8)
  • Lumino City (https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/lumino-city/id958604518?mt=8)
  • The Tiny Bang Story (http://www.colibrigames.com) (this is not a universal purchase though; you have to search for it on the Apple TV App Store to buy it separately, but it's only $3 and totally worth it!)

These games prove that it is possible to have a mouse-like pointer-based control system with the Apple TV remote, and they work very nicely.

September 27, 2016 Amanita_Design tweet (https://mobile.twitter.com/Amanita_Design/status/781422132479848448?p=v):

tenraiden: @Amanita_Design Please bring #Samorost3, #Machinarium & #Botanicula to Apple TV! Broken Age proves that adventure games work great on it!

Amanita_Design: @tenraiden we will, but it takes some time to port it properly

YAY! Congrats on getting featured too!

That's what I love about the App Store: getting versions for different platforms with a single purchase :)

Article: Machinarium finally arrives to Apple TV (http://couch-games.com/machinarium-finally-arrives-apple-tv/)

" I found myself staring at the scene’s rich colors, backgrounds and weird renderings long before starting play."

   ~me too!

"...Another question I have after this awesome Machinarium Apple TV adventure is: will there be a sequel?"

~not me. JD has made it perfectly clear that a sequel is NOT coming any time soon. Other projects come first!
