Now, Machinarium was refused for XBL...

What do you mean "refused"?  At last count polling was at 50/50: http://machinarium.net/forum/index.php/topic,81.0.html (http://machinarium.net/forum/index.php/topic,81.0.html)

EDIT:  May I suggest modifying your poll, jriquelme?  It's really not just a Yes/No question.  With all due respect, there should also be an "I don't care" option.   ;) ;D

Refused by Microsoft

Thanks for pointing that link out!

"Asking founder and leader designer Jakub Dvorksy about their intent to port the quirky little adventure game to XBLA, Dvorsky informed us about Microsoft’s recent refusal of the game:
'Microsoft just refused Machinarium for XBLA after a half year of talking with them. They like the game and know it would be very successful on their platform, but they don’t want to support games which aren’t Microsoft exclusives. Machinarium isn’t, since we’ve also released versions for Mac and Linux. We have another option to approach some big publisher to bring the game to XBLA, which is quite absurd to do and lose maybe a large part of revenue because of that.'"

"they don’t want to support games which aren’t Microsoft exclusives"

If this is the only reason then it might not be a problem for PSN - Plain Sight was refused by XBLA but still accepted by PSN and WiiWare. It does seem odd though when Super Meat Boy has just been announced for XBLA after it's WiiWare version has been hyped for months.

I'm from Los ANgeles and would love to see Machinarium on PlayStation 3's PlayStation Network. I no longer have an Xbox 360, after multiple RRoDs I refused to support the system any longer. I play games on my PS3 and PC.

Yet another idiotic decision by Microsoft.

but then I never owned an XBOX and never will.

They're trying to get it onto PSN:
http://www.joystiq.com/2010/04/12/machinarium-dev-moves-on-to-sony-after-microsoft-passes-on-publi/

It seems that on PSN and WiiWare they can publish the game themselves, but they must get someone else to publish it on XBLA.

The game 'could' still be released on XBLA too.  The more platforms the better as far as I see it as that will make the devs more money in the long run and so enable them to continue making great games.

If you do want the game to be on XBLA show your support here: http://machinarium.net/forum/index.php/topic,1034.0.html

Wait, Plain Sight being refused for XBLA?! Where can I support them to?

Joined the forum just to say that I would love this game for the Playstation 3.

Tested the demo and I realy liked it, but since I dont like to play on a computer it would be perfect on the Playstation 3.

I've just realised that they never said anything about the Xbox  :-[
The game was programmed in XNA, most people had assumed it would be coming to XBLA, and they are trying to get it onto as many platforms as possible so it seems unlikely that they didn't try.

I'm fairly sure that WiiWare has a 40MB limit on games, so Machinarium might not fit (was it around 350-something MB? I can't check right now).

Title: PlayStation Network Hack Leaves Credit Card Info at Risk
Post by: Alex on April 28, 2011, 08:00:27 pm

Sony thinks an “unauthorized person” now has access to all PlayStation Network account information and passwords, and may have obtained the credit card numbers of the service’s 70 million users. ...In its FAQ, Sony said, “If you use the same user name or password for your PlayStation Network or Qriocity service account for other unrelated services or accounts, we strongly that you change them.”  Source: http://www.wired.com/gamelife/2011/04/playstation-network-hacked/ (http://www.wired.com/gamelife/2011/04/playstation-network-hacked/)
