Post by: Alex on March 26, 2011, 04:03:00 am

"Osada" - An interactive music video created by Amanita animator Vaclav Blin.

"Botanicula" - Headed up by Amanita animator Jara Placy (who did the comic thought bubbles peppered throughout Machinarium) is a point-and-click adventure about 5 tree critters on a quest to save their home’s last seed from a pack of evil parasites.

and...

I wouldn’t share them as as they’re usually quite obscene or disgusting.
but developers cut out all the interesting! please include "obscene" and "disgusting", and we will provide our ID to prove we're 21 or older  ;)

Amazing news, Botanicula looks great, and I am extremely excited for Samorost3. Osada certainly looks interesting.

I am glad that they are finally going to release Machinarium on PS3, I really like Sony and how they do things, I don't have a PS3 but I love Heavy Rain, those guys over at Quantic Dream also have two new projects in the works, both my favorite developers (Amanita Design, and Quantic Dream).

Does anyone know if Amanita is still planning on releasing Machinarium for the Wii?

Edit: after reading more about Samorost 3, I am now even more extremely excited, but hearing that it will take a few years to finish it is a bummer, but I hope all that time is spent well and that it is worth the wait.

Another interview:
http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2011/03/28/jakub-dvorsky-interview/

Including, "Knowing things isn’t so important though. Amanita wants Samorost 3 to be a more welcoming puzzle game. “We want it to be more accessible. We just want to change the approach of the whole game. The goal shouldn’t be to defeat it and solve all of the puzzles as quickly as possible. The player should enjoy it. So we are thinking of it as an interactive toy.”

Jakub laments what he calls a lack of replayability in the adventure genre. “We want to approach it like a music record. You hear it once, but it still has value the second time, the third time.”

His presentation ended here, just after Jakub showed us a change to the main character’s design. He will be more ninja-like, able to jump around and move more fluidly. So there we are. A white, nameless, ninja space gnome. What do you make of that?"

And another interview   ;D
http://www.casualgaming.biz/news/30967/Interview-Amanita-Design (http://www.casualgaming.biz/news/30967/Interview-Amanita-Design)

During the reveal of Samorost 3, Dvorský was clear that they want make the game easier to grasp for inexperienced players than Machinarium.
“We want to change the approach so the game is not only accessible for non-gamers and inexperienced players, but we want to achieve a real playfulness.  You shouldn’t want to finish the game as soon as possible, and defeat it by solving all the puzzles. You should enjoy the process of playing with the game. It should be something like a huge interactive toy.”
