Title: Should I buy through Steam, or the Amanita Design Store?
Post by: h2odysee on October 16, 2009, 02:52:41 pm
I want to play asap, and I'm not sure where to buy it from. If I buy from the Amanita Design Store, will I be able to download it immediately?

Steam says "this game will unlock in approximately 6 hours".

I went with GamersGate. It's downloading at 300k, so in about 20 minutes I'll be playing :)

Lucky. My download began at 10 hours and a bit. Since then it's been fluctuating between 12 & 4 hours ( and I started 5 minutes ago)  :-[

Personally, I strongly recommend you to purchase from Amanita Design. ;) Always buy/download things from the official websites.
First, you won't depend on a store. Then, it's better on long term : you will have directly all updates, and if one day you want to play on Linux or Mac OS X, you will be able to get them because you've bought them. :)
And with Amanita, you will get the complete soundtrack, too. ;D
