Adding my vote for this amazing game.

Anyone who loves the music in Amanita's games definitely needs to check out Knytt Undergorund (http://knyttunderground.com). A huge 2D world to explore and get lost in, with lots of quests and puzzles and an INSANE amount of secrets!

Above all, Knytt shares the same kind of serene atmosphere and beautiful ambience that Machinarium, Botanicula and Samorost have.  :)

In other Nifflas news, Saira (his first commercial game) is now free!

It's smaller than Knytt Underground, but just as atmospheric & pretty.

PS: More (old but Important) Nifflas News - he's working on the delightfully titles "Affordable Space Adventures" with KnapNok Games. Have a trailer! (http://vimeo.com/87228022) And a website! (http://affordablespaceadventures.com/)(Complete with another trailer)

It's headed for WiiU, with it's unique controls preventing it going anywhere else.

I don't have a WiiU.

 :(

I thought I'd put one in...

Here 'tis: http://nifflas.ni2.se/?page=Saira
You still need to type in a serial code, which is just under the download links on that page.

Also, if you haven't played them yet, check out Nifflas's earlier free games, Knytt (http://nifflas.ni2.se/?page=Knytt) & Knytt Stories (http://nifflas.ni2.se/?page=Knytt+Stories) (and check out the Gaia (http://nifflas.lpchip.nl/index.php?topic=3541.0) level for Knytt Stories by Anyndel & Drakkan).
Knytt was one of the first small scale games I ever played, and I think actually the first to give so much importance to exploring a world for it's own sake, so I like to hold it responsible for the types of games I play now (including all of Amanita's games) :)

Within a Deep Forest (http://nifflas.ni2.se/?page=Within+a+Deep+Forest), the predecessor to Knytt Underground, is really fun too.

It's a cute, simple but challenging, bouncing ball game with sweet music. You have some freedom to choose the levels in the order you wish, and it has some Metroid-like elements (like letting you access new areas after you gain different ball abilities.)

Warning: It can be VERY frustrating in some parts, but that's part of the fun!

I forgot WaDF? Derp :P
And that FiNCK is now totally free too (which means you can play user created levels, and maybe create your own? Can't remember if that cost anything).

And before I forget more stuff: shoutouts to Night Sky, The Great Work, Ynglet, Battle Cube...
Just go to nifflas.ni2.se and download everything. Nifflas is Magic

@RobotJosef, I just read about software called WINE (http://www.cultofmac.com/185565/how-to-run-almost-any-windows-game-on-your-mac-without-boot-camp-or-parallels-feature/) that allows you to play some PC games on your Mac.  Ever tried it?

@Wrenbot, Yes!  I love Within a Deep Forest and totally agree, the music is SWEET!  (the 'spider in the tower' level is a personal fave)

Hey Alex,

I never really thought about parallel-like software beforeā€¦

But it seems good because lots of game designers do there games first on Windows, like PvZ Garden Warfare.

Well, Thanks again.
