Title: Machinarium T-shirt!
Post by: Rhialto on October 18, 2009, 11:11:41 pm
Now that I enjoyed the game and the music a lot, I would be willing to get a T-shirt.  There is a Machinarium T-shirt (http://www.cafepress.com/samorost) but I would also like it to show something on the back, not only art on the front.  I want people who follow me see that I'm wearing a Machinarium T-shirt.  More chance someone stop me and say 'Hey you played Machinarium?' and start a discussion about how we liked it, etc.

jd, I would really like a t-shirt with something on the back also, maybe like this?

25$ and sold.

Anyone else?

Yes?  No?  Maybe?

If one day it's a Yes then e-mail to let me know in case I'm away.

P.S. ABortez, read my 1st post again I added a like to this T-Shirt that is already available but the back is blank.

i bought the one from cafepress, with the musicians, but i am not able to use it, its shape is quadratic, it means - short and wide and very big fro an M size, so i still have a plan to cut the picture out and sew it on another shirt :p but that version here would be amazing too. maybe i should draw it :D

You mean even the "women's cut (http://www.cafepress.com/samorost.40669535)" was quadratic?   :(  Bummer.
Still, if you went ahead and sewed the image on to something else you'd have the most unique shirt in town!    8)

I would go ahead and make my own but not sure jd would like that, I don't know if it's copyrighted.  That's why I was asking him to add a new shirt with that on the back, he only need to upload the new image file but he must be busy with the interviews and such lately.   :P

Good news!

Jakub modified the back of the t-shirt to add Machinarium!  You can now buy that t-shirt here : http://www.cafepress.ca/samorost.40667905

I bought mine!  :-)

Thanks Jakub!

While I am very grateful that there is a Machinarium t-shirt design - and please forgive me for whining - is there no BLACK t-shirt option?  I think I own 2 white items of clothing, which makes "whites" laundry day either very infrequent or a task of manual labour.  Anyone else wishing for Machinarium on black t's?

Failing that, I may have to buy the bib and do some cut'n'paste/stitch of my own - only slightly more disaster potential there than wearing a bib in public. ;)

Please make shirts! I need two, one for me and one for my eight year old daughter. We LOVE this game.

They only have one Machinarium one, but it's the band so all is well  :)

Would love a Machinarium t-shirt, but the band is not for me..

Any chance of a shirt with the hero and his girl on the front and Machinarium on the back?

Something similar to the box-art perhaps? Climbing a pile of robot junk..

I just had the idea to look if there were any t shirts with machinarium, and I see there are ;) But I think it is really a shame that there isn't one in black. I would love to have a black one with either the band (as on the white one) or if possible something like on the dock icon, but without the rubbish pile, only the characters (and no machinarium on back). Or the cat without background, that would be awesome!

It's just that I really don't like white clothes :/

I heard that cafepress prints on individual order, does anyone know if this means I could mail them and ask if they could do that?

thanks, Frits

EDIT: Ok, so I just saw that you can indeed create your own t-shirts by uploading a photo or artwork, a really cool service! But.. can I use a picture (screenshot/wallpaper/artwork - probably edited a little to remove stuff I don't want), or would that fall under copyright or something?

And, does anyone know a good resolution picture of the cat? The only slightly large one I can find is on the wallpaper but it has it's legs cut off.. does no one have love for the cat? :(

I can't speak for JD's take on Amanita Design copyrights but (among other things) I happen to be a Toy Soldier (http://www.toysoldiersunite.com/) (;o)  and this is what Dr. Steel (http://www.toysoldiersunite.com/drsteelbio) wrote recently about one of his fans needing permission to make custom shirts using his artwork:

"You would not need special permission if they were for your own use and you were not selling them to anyone else or selling the items which they were affixed to. Though having them made elsewhere as opposed to purchasing them through the TSU store, would not be supporting the cause or helping to fund further merchandise from Dr.Steel."

So maybe you could buy something from Amanita Design's CafePress shop (http://www.cafepress.com/samorost) (like maybe the Samorost2 shirt in black (http://www.cafepress.com/samorost.40114816)?) then go ahead and make your custom shirt free of guilt?   :D

Personally I always liked user izoong's Fan Art submission (http://machinarium.net/forum/index.php/topic,321.msg2477.html#msg2477) and have often wished I could wear it on a T-Shirt... so thanks for the info about custom shirts on CafePress!   ;D

Thanks for the suggestion! It's a very nice picture, and a good drawing! I would like to have permission and a better resolution from him/her too in that case, though, heh. Well, I think Dr Steel might have more of a reason for giving it the green light than amanita design. I might do what you said, or I'll mail amanita.
