Title: App multitasking causes Machinarium to lose game state
Post by: mcandre on January 19, 2014, 12:56:17 am
Machinarium doesn't clean up properly during app switching. For example, a player switches to Safari to search for walkthroughs, then switches back to Machinarium. Most games automatically pause and save before releasing the switch to the browser, but Machinarium gets confused, launching the home screen, and forgetting the game state since the last manual save.

* Latest Machinarium
* iOS 7
* iPad Mini non-Retina

First off, there's no need to switch to Safari to search for walkthroughs as a walkthrough is already built into the game.

Secondly, as to your more specific complaint(s) ~ including how Machinarium doesn't "clean up properly during app switching" ~ you are welcome to contact Amanita Design directly using the contact form you'll find in the About (http://amanita-design.net/about.html) TAB above.

Since the last manual save (from a save slot)? Hmm...it saves perfectly well on iOS 6—double-tap the home button when playing Machinarium, switch out to another application, then double-tap the home button again and select Machinarium, and it's exactly as you left it. But I don't have iOS 7 (holy cow, it's ugly), so I can't duplicate this. I agree with Alex about contacting the developers...making sure, of course, that you note that you have iOS 7 installed.
