Post by: ABoretz on April 24, 2008, 06:34:48 pm
Nico Guevara, a.k.a. D.J. samorost, a.k.a. guru sigma
"where does samorost come from?  samorost is a word in polish which means 'the first plants that are born in a place right after the massive destruction of the environment'.... the name was inspired by the beautiful interactive flash game by amanita design, precisely called samorost."

JD has been asked "What does Samorost mean?" several times in interviews...

"I don't know english word for samorost but it is a piece of wood or root which looks weird or reminds some creature. exactly something self growing."

or

"'Samorost' in Czech means a root or piece of wood which resembles a creature; but it is also a term for a person who doesn't care about the rest of the world. I think it's a nice Czech word which has various meanings."
