What if I paid for it on the Android Play Store? Will I have to pay for it again on the Ubuntu Software Center?

AFAIK, yes.  Despite your Android Play Store purchase you will have to pay for it again on the Ubuntu Software Center.  ( different vendor = clean slate )

May I suggest that you sign up for Humble Bundle updates?  ( you never know what wonders might come your way )
