You said "as soon as I hop down", so I'm assuming you're hopping down from where the red arrow is pointing in this screenshot. If so, the shot shows where the various raspberries should be positioned in order to get you to the point where the four characters are seen here. (The screenshot doesn't show positioning for the rest of the way, as I didn't want to spoil it all.)
