3 looks a bit scrawny. I hope it gets fed at some point in the game.

Hmm...
Well the 2005 one looks good
but the new one looks cuter
I think.

Both are awesome! Grin

I picked the first, though that's probably because he's the gnome I'm used to.

Then again, if it had been an option in the poll, I'd have picked the solution in Priyma's equation.  Nice shading, there.   Grin

The new gnome doesn't have the same charm as the old one. The great thing about Samorost 1 and 2 was the contrast between the very flat characters against the beautiful, detailed backgrounds. 2005 Gnome looks more human and familiar. What happened to his boots and mittens?

I agree, I liked the more 2d look. The new shading takes away from that. I much prefer the old one.

What is his name?

To this day JD has never given the main character of the Samorost series a name.
So everybody just calls him (her?) "Gnome".

FWIW my personal theory is that Czech artist Linda Čihařová was the original inspiration for The Gnome.   Smiley

Definetly looks legit, Alex. Cheesy

"Gnome" may be the official name of the main character, everyone and
everything (Official things included) refer to him (errr...her? welp okay.) as Gnome.

Either that or he's just a gnome without a name. Machinarium's Jozef and Berta
have been comfirmed long time ago, Samorost 3 is already comming and there's
still no other name for him. Smiley
