this post by Lamkin) how someone that bought the game from Amanita Design's store (which uses the Humble Widget) can continue to get updates as more bugs get fixed, but I'm not certain how that would work. Do you have to keep checking the download link you were sent to see if there's been an update or are update announcements sent to every purchaser?
Yep, you have to keep checking the download link to see if there has been an update; if there has, you'll see a red 'NEW' alongside the date of the most recent update. Not a very efficient system, in my opinion. One thing I think would help quite a bit would be if they also listed the current version number; that way you could compare that with the version you have.

Cosmic Edition…" I'll bet that's how players that bought the Box can download updates as they come in.
Yeah, Steam is awesome in that regard...every game you have installed is kept updated automatically every time Steam is launched.
