I really like the visual style of this game, wish there were more like it.  The mini-games remind me of the sort of things I used to play on the C64 and Atari ST (especially those in BAT II).

I'm not the best at logic games so must confess that I grudgingly gave up and went through the solution mini-game on a couple of occasions (I really like the concept of this), just looking at the part of the solution that I was stuck on (temptation to look at all of it was high though!), in particular the safe combination thing with the balls near the end of the game.  I felt there were some parts that were not obvious at all what one was supposed to do, even after I looked at the solution I would never have thought to do those things, it got to a point of clicking everywhere with inventory items in a hope that something would happen.

I realise a lot of effort has gone into this game but I feel that it is simply too short.  Can those who purchased it have free or cut-price access to future chapters involving our little metal friends?  I hope there will be more!

I think considering the low $20 price point it is difficult to make the argument that there wasn't enough content to make a good value.

I think the average movie rental price in your area makes a good benchmark; If it costs me $8.00 to rent a movie that is about 2 hours long then a good nominal price for media based entertainment is about $4.00 / hour. The game has several solid hours of content for the average play-through if you aren't using a walkthrough so I think the game is a good value.

In my opinion is not too short, there are 30 levels and assuming 20-30 mins to solve a single level, this means that you need 10-15h of playing.
Considering the price 20$ (13 eur) i think it's ok

Bye

Hmm, I don't agree with the comparison with movie rentals, it's an entirely different medium and cannot be compared.

I have purchased games on PSN (PS3 online store) that have better longevity than Machinarium and for less money.

Don't get me wrong, I really liked Machinarium, I just wish there was more of it.
