I am playing Machinarium on an imac running OSX10.6.7. When I try to use items that I've picked up and put in my inventory, the cursor appears as that item (all fine). If I then find that the item isn't useful at that point, I can't put it back into the inventory and the item just remains as the cursor, which stops me doing anyhting more. I am forced to quit the game and start again. how do i put items back into the inventory? I assume there's a simple way to do that but I haven't found it!

This might be a dumb question, but did you try clicking in the inventory area?
