I recently received my copy of the Samorost2 Soundtrack from Minority Records, and wanted to know if there is a way to download it to my desktop so I can play it without having to put the disc in every time?

The retail copy of Machinarium makes you download and not need the disc every time you play. And does anyone know if the Russian Boxed version of Samorost2 installs to your desktop and play without the disc?

Is there a definite answer to this?

Err... if you have the CD soundtrack for Samorost 2 then yes you should be able to put the tracks/songs on your computer's hard drive (so you don't have to insert the disc every time). Just use a CD ripper (software) like iTunes, Windows Media Player etc.

(more info on CD rippers here - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CD_ripper)

If you want to play the game without inserting the CD you can do one of two things:

1 - See if it comes with a code for a digital download (such as via Steam) and if so download and play it using that.

or

2 - Make a virtual copy of the game's disc to keep on your computer's hard drive and use a virtual drive software to play it.

A good software for making virtual copies of discs is CloneCD (http://www.slysoft.com/en/clonecd.html)
...and a good software for playing virtual discs is Virtual CloneDrive (http://www.slysoft.com/en/virtual-clonedrive.html)
