My son James and I have enjoyed playing Machinarium together immensely. He has been playing it since he was four, and now that he is six, we can finish the game in two evenings. He is very hopefull that there will be a Machinarium 2 soon. He hopes to be a video game designer when he grows up, and your work has been his greatest inspiration. Here is his message to the design team who created Machinarium:

If you don't make Machinarium 2, I will make it myself.
Oh, and if you make it a demo, it's OK!
When in Machinarium you first come out of the elevator, you see a little robot on a shelf. In the Samorost demo the little robot is there, but that's not all, there is more: that I am creeped out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

He is hoping someone can respond to him.

@robotdude, I moved your post from "Where are our members from" (since that's not what you wrote to say).  Also, sorry to tell you, there will be no Machinarium 2, only Samorost 3.

I'm taking the liberty of pasting the content of a PM I got from robotdude's son, James, because he is asking the same question that comes up in everyone's mind after they finish the game.

My personal opinion* is that Amanita Design should embed - somewhere in Samorost 3 - a scene like the one that "creeped out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" James in Machinarium (where the robot from Samorost 2 showed up on a shelf in the tower).  Perhaps The Gnome and his dog might come across Josef and his girlfriend happily enjoying Mai Tais (or "Oil Tais"?) at some oil-field-side resort??  Voilà!  We will then see that they are safe and sound.   

So, how would YOU (friends of the forum) answer James?

Jakub Dvorsky and his friends - who make these games - are VERY funny guys, and so sometimes they have some creative fun with the characters they invent.  The robot from Samorost 2 probably showed up in Machinarium because they liked him so much that they wanted to give him another chance to appear in one of their stories.  

What is the girlfriend's name?

No one knows.
