I already asked in the "Machinarium pre-orders have begun" thread:
Do the customers who pre-ordered the game get a physical version of the game if Daedalic publish it?
Or do they "only" get the download version (which would be fair enough for 17$)?

In the "Pre-orders for Machinarium" thread JD wrote: "the boxed version will be released this fall in Russia, Germany, Switzerland and Austria."  - referring to Daedalic, then he continued - "we are now negotiating also other regions.

So, until JD chimes in to give you the precise answer to your question, we can pretty much assume that the pre-order purchase is for the download version only and the boxed version would be a separate transaction.

All right, thanks, I'll wait for Daedalic to keep us informed about the release. I want it boxed. Cheesy

Yep I'm with you. :-)  Hey, have you seen how beautifully packaged Samorost 2 was by Snowball Studios in Russia?!

Though getting a copy has proved to be even harder to do than when I tried to obtain the "Druha priroda" exhibition catalog from the East Bohemian Gallery in Pardubice!   Cheesy  http://www.machinarium.com/machinarioforum/index.php?topic=54.msg432#msg432

Oh I had to give up on that. Even asked Linda Ciharova for help, she was very keen and told me that my request has been forwarded but I'm still waiting for someone from the exhibition to send me an email about payment details etc. It's been months now so I ran out of hope Embarrassed

Wow, if Daedalic's box for Machinarium look just as impressive as Samorost 2 in Russia then I'd definitely gotta have one.

You just might get your wish.  Look at what I found on the Snowball.ru site...  http://www.snowball.ru/machinarium/
My Russian's very rusty but I do know that "Осень 2009" translates to "Autumn 2009" in English.  Wink

I meant the boxed release for Germany. Since the Samorost game got such a nice box release in Russia I hope that Germany's release by Daedalic will be just as nice for Machinarium. Wink

If it's going to be released in germany, will it be in german? I'm from the Netherlands myself and I would love to purchase a boxed set, but I would really prefer it to be in English Smiley

Great artwork, music and mood in the game though. I'm definitely going to purchase it.

Great Smiley I will probably preorder the game, and buy the boxed version later on. Daedalic also published the nice Adventure "Edna Bricht Aus" Smiley

Hope to see a Machinarium Box Art soon.

I think I will totaly get the boxed version too, but I still hope there will be some sort of deal for those who preordered.

I see Samorost 2 will be included... Is there also the Soundtrack?
