Help! I went through this entire level and never noticed i could access the middle cell. Once I got the dog part and saw online that I needed the plunger attachment i went back, but I no longer have the broom stick that is needed to open the sewer grates. I have no saved spots that far back. Please tell me I'm not completely screwed here! Don't want to start the game all over again.

Never Mind! I'm a complete moron and hadn't played around with the key-lock enough times to unlock the middle door, thought I had to enter it from below.

problem solved!

Can you share how you did this.. I no longer have the broom and the middle cell door is closed and locked. I have used the 4:45 code to open the door with the cabinet. When I come back out the middle door cannot be opened and I have to get the plunger somehow. Any tips? Help?

You still have the key, yes?  And the guard won't be coming back any more.  So... unlock the middle cell door.
