Does anyone have any ideas on how to stop people from pirating Machinarium? Youtube is not much of a threat because 1.) megaupload is down and 2.) the other link requires a survey. Other websites worry me because you can't flag the download links; they are directly hosted by the websites themselves! Are there any seasoned nerds out there willing to help me to stop (or at least slow down) pirating?

Thanks for your concern Steammaster, but unless someone from the hacker group "Anonymous" wants to take this project on, there is no way to stop the pirating of Machinarium.  Amanita Design is committed to releasing DRM free games so, subsequently, there's no concrete way to prevent pirating.

However, it's worth mentioning here that back in the summer of 2010 Amanita Design offered a Pirate Amnesty and - surprise! surprise! - LOTS of pirates came on board and finally bought Machinarium.

So there is still hope for our mongrel species after all!   Grin   Happy Christmahanakwanzika!

Piracy sucks and it happens and will continue to happen. If you aware the game you love is being pirated and you truly want to help, report links so they can be taken down. That will go a long way for a company like Amanita who is trying to get up in space.
