Prague-New York Effects: The Fourth Effect

The Fourth Effect boasts the artistry of Tami Stronach-actress, dancer & choreographer and Tomáš Dvořák (Floex) – clarinetist, composer; producer & multi-media artist create an original performance duet.

The project Prague-New York Effects epitomizes Czech Center's mission towards creating enduring transatlantic collaborations. This project brings renowned Czech and American artists together, unifying them in the common dialogue of the creative process to birth original performance duets. These performances have their world premieres in both countries.

The featured collaborative project Fourth Effect will premiere at the Ballroom of The Bohemian National Hall before heading off to the Palác Akropolis in Prague. During their residency at Czech Center New York the artists will offer a workshop entitled Dance phrases and sound sensor improvisation . On September 20, they will also be involved in the Prague-New York Effects wrap up performance of the entire project where they will create installations and performances throughout the building. The renowned dance journalist, Jana Návratová will also discuss the impact of the initiative in Prague.

"Together with Dan Gregor (Initi) and Ondrej Prucha we closed our selves in the multimedia lab and created a new musical instrument!
It's a light statue, by touching light streams you can create your own musical compositions from the material you have just recorded into this statue.
I brought the whole installation to New York to explore its possibilities with dancer Tami Stronach.
Now we are coming to Prague to share the result of our research here. Come to see our show on 29th September in Palac Akropolis."
