Bug? Level 5 - the broom disappears

I'm playing Machinarium on a mac via Steam and I ran into an interesting predicament. I had hit escape in the window which made my screen display in window mode which is a simple flash application window. Well while I was playing around in the new window attempting to get back to fullscreen my character was in process of reaching out with the extra arm to get to the broom. During the animation of bringing the broom back I hit the flash "Control"->Rewind and then Control->Play commands which loaded another instance of the game overtop of my current one. The game on top presented me with the intro, and a choice to start a new game or continue. I continued and I was where I was before but the broom has disappeared from the level completely, it is not in my inventory or anything so I can't finish the level...

It seems like because the game reloaded while the broom was not in its original place and not quite in my inventory that it has disappeared.

How do I get it back? Can I restart the level from the beginning without restarting the whole game..?

Sorry it took so long to respond. Yeah, you can restart the level if you want, but there isn't any option to do that through the game itself....You'll have to replace your .sol (save) file with the one for the prison cell location (#4) from this thread:
