I just bought an Asus Transformer Infinity and when I try to run this game I have 2 problems:

* It forces the tablet in portrait mode, when I assume it should be in landscape.
* Most importantly, it doesn't go full screen and the splash screen is cropped in the center so I cannot see or use the buttons to start the game.

So I'm stuck at the splash screen with no way to play. Sad

AFAIK the programmers at Amanita Design can only test their games on devices they can import into the Czech Republic.  It may be that the Transformer Infinity is one of the devices they can't get a hold of and that could explain why you're having bugs.

Nevertheless, please write to "support ~snaily~ amanitadesign.com" ( or use the About form to explain your problem )

Then, if you'd be so kind, write back to relay whatever "Support" you received.

Good luck!

Machinarium 1.6 downloads the additional files on my Asus Transformer Infinity (TF700T) then dies. If I try to open it again, the screen goes black as if the game is loading, then closes with no error message.

I've got a logcat from my tablet from launch to close of the game and pasted it here: http://pastebin.com/Wrw5Nd3X

Can someone more knowledgeable in Android things look into this?

PS: I'm running Jelly Bean.

From the log you provided: "I/Choreographer(31857): Skipped 48 frames!  The application may be doing too much work on its main thread." (my emphasis)

I'm no Android specialist but that sounds like the same "too many other applications were open at the same time they tried to play Machinarium" problem that iPAD2 users were having.

Were you running any other apps at the same time you launched Machinarium?

If my guess is wrong then please follow the advice I gave to jgillick and contact Support.  After which please be so kind as to write a follow up when you find a solution never doubt the value of positive thinking! ;~)

Hi there,

I may have had a load of apps open the first time, but I then rebooted the tablet in case that was the problem, but it still wouldn't run after a clean reboot.

If my guess is wrong then please follow the advice I gave to jgillick and contact Support.  After which please be so kind as to write a follow up when you find a solution never doubt the value of positive thinking! ;~)

I've contacted them, so we'll see what happens! Smiley

hey lostpilgrim, There is another possibility I should have suggested right off the bat and that's a corrupted download.

It's surprising how often troubles people have reported here all came down to corrupted downloads of the game!

Give that a try while you wait for a response from Support.

Hi Alex,

I've downloaded the files twice on my tablet, whereas it played fine first time on my phone, so I don't think that's it.

Thanks for the suggestion though - if you think of anything else that I can try before AD get back to me, please let me know!

Sorry Lost Pilgrim, I think I've found the answer... and you're not going to like it.
"Android, once open to the protocol, will no longer be supporting Adobe Flash with its newest version, Jelly Bean." - Source

What I did was search The Web for: Android + "Jelly Bean" + Flash and found articles like:
"Adobe won't support Flash on Jelly Bean" and, "Android's Flash Player is dead - live with it"  (which contains a link showing "Flash Player Certified Devices" and the Asus Transformer Infinity (TF700T) is not on it).  It also says there that, "Flash Player will not be certified for any device OS beyond Android 4.0.x."

So, unless a workable "Jelly Bean" + Flash + hack can be found you're not going to play Machinarium on your Droid.good luck!

Hi Alex,

Jelly Bean doesn't support the Flash browser plugin, but Machinarium for Android is distributed as an Adobe Air app, which should currently be supported.

I'm pretty sure the app is listed as supporting Jelly Bean, which has been out for a couple of months now, so while I appreciate your research, it's probably a good idea to avoid scaring people browsing to the forum looking for a solution.

I found a thread on XDA Developers where they discuss the game and it does appear to be running on TF700's as of Sept 20th, so it looks like the problem may not apply to all devices.

I found a thread for a different version of the Transformer that suggests missing fonts, but I tried that to no avail - I've posted it here anyway in case it fixes anyone else's problem, as this thread is currently appearing in Google results.

Too bad those XDA Developer forum links you found didn't help.  I think your next best step might be to contact Hothead Games who partnered with Amanita Design on the Machinarium port to Android.  Here's their support email.

You're welcome.  And to anyone that feels   "scared"   by reading my comments in this thread, my response is: "Switch to decaf, turn off your Droid, and go for a walk in Nature."

Thanks for that. I'll give it a go.

I was kind of hoping AD would be professional enough to do that themselves, but after buying the game on Humble Bundle, Steam, and now Android, I guess the burden is still with me to prove how dedicated to the game I am by fixing the app myself...

That's easy to say, but you only get 15 minutes to refund an app in the Google Play store, and the download took that long for me, so it'd be a shame for a bunch of people to blame Amanita Designs for claiming the game is compatible with Jelly Bean and taking their money when we don't even know the cause of the problem yet.
