Title: Machinarium retail version Linux installation Post by: Virus666 on April 06, 2011, 01:31:11 am
I have prepared an instruction for http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1722444 My copy of the game has no Linux executable file. The only files in the CD are just Install-Machinarium.exe and the soundtrack folder... Then I discovered that the executable file in Machinarium Patch 01 does the job. Here is the easiest way to install the retail game which has no Linux file:
http://amanita-design.net/blog/2009/10/29/machinarium-patch-01/ http://amanita-design.net/blog/2009/11/29/machinarium-patch-02/ You can start the game by double clicking the Machinarium file in Machina folder. Previous Machinarium installation is not required anymore; you can uninstall it via Wine safely. Note: Do not forget to turn off Flash Player's hardware accelaration in the game: http://www.macromedia.com/support/documentation/en/flashplayer/help/help01.html That's all. That method is applied for the retail versions which do not have required Linux files. The copy of the games which supports Linux do not need that method. Have fun... 8)[/list] Title: Re: Machinarium retail version Linux installation Post by: federer on May 07, 2011, 12:55:06 pm its really a nice sharing for everyone helping allot for newbies.

I bought the Collector's Edition DVD and was stunned that, although it says Linux on the box, the Linux files weren't included! Since I have already bought both the Linux and Windows downloads, and can't find the Linux game now - I couldn't afford to buy it again.
