Started this WONDERFULL game for the 2nd time and got stuck on the elevator outside the kitchen.
Whatever I do: it doesn't go up anymore.
Started several new sessions, so now play the first bit on automatic pilot, but always never can go up!!
Who can help me?

Still stuck....
Just noticed that in the book the fly-wheel is activated bij turning the red knobs DOWN, but it's only activated bij turning them ABOVE.
Could this be the problem?
Can't remember how it was the first time, it worked then!!

you say, "it doesn't go up anymore." ... this means you went up already once.
remember leaving the elevator's motor running when you got off through the fan?
ask your friend in the kitchen one more time!

I didn't go up yet at all.
And the fuel is o.k., the fly-wheel turns on.
There's nothing to be done in the kitchen.
It just doesn't give the arrow to go up.
Before I had several problems (like the thing with the food for the dog being too far away), but then it always worked to start the game anew, but now after the xxxxxxth time, I always end up on the elevator.
The game was a present from my sister, but I like it so much... maybe the solution is to buy it again.

Have you checked the controlpanel on the elevator with the red and grey dots?

If you solve the puzzle of it a lever pops out just under it giving you up and down-control over the elevator.

Point at the lever and you'll see an arrow pointing down or up depending on how low or high you point.

Yea, that's the lever that sets the fly-wheel running.
But after that you have to get an arrow that points upwards (like when you can go up the stairs or down the well etc., that's the one that doesn't appear anymore.

Hmmm, I just don't get what's holding you up.  One gets to the side-of-the-building elevator, fuels it up, solves the crisscross nobs puzzle, and on they go.  I just don't understand what's hampering your progress!  Especially since you say you've already played through once before!!

Tell us, please, what version of the game are you playing?  namely: when did you purchase and download it?  Did you (if needed) update your files.  And, also, it might help to know what operating system you're running (WIN or MAC)  Lastly, are you *sure* you solved the "crisscross nobs puzzle" and aren't just sitting there all fueled up with nowhere to go??

OH OH, SORRY SORRY, I got out!!
I had not to 'close' the box with the puzzle, but use the arrow that's there to go up.
(I thought that was only for the lever)
I tried to get an arrow with the box closed !!
I'm very ashamed for being so stupid and thank you for trying to help me.

You needed to have the "crisscross nobs puzzle" solved and on the screen so you had access to the lever that pops out underneath it to go up.
