Hi,

I bought Machinarium in a shop today (in New Zealand!), partly because it was reasonably priced, partly because it looked cool and partly because it said 'Linux compatible' on the back!

However, now that I'm home on my Linux machine, I can't seem to find any Linux-ish files - there's "install-machinarium.exe" and some mp3/flac files, but that's it.

I can't find a tar.gz anywhere as mentioned in the FAQ.

It's not a big problem I guess, I sort of wasn't expecting it to *really* work on Linux anyway and I can always play it at work on the boring old PC.

But I was kind of looking forward to playing it on my 54inch TV with super-duper surround sound at home, so if I'm missing something or whatever, please help!

(You might also want to mention this in the FAQ too).

Bye,
Mark

It does! I bought the game online on amanita website to play it on my XP machine and I have win, mac and linux versions (it is actually Machinarium_full_en_v3.tar.gz).
Just be patient and some nice guy here will give you a reasonable answer.
Is it by chance the Collector's Edition?

Hi,

Okay.

> Is it by chance the Collector's Edition?

Yes! It comes with a music CD, a cool poster with concept art sketches on the back and a 'walk through' booklet (in a weird alien language!).

Altogether, a very nicely packaged product, and for only a little bit more than it would have cost me online.

I'm actually a big fan of fancy packaging like this - it reminds me of the 'Zork' days where you used to get all sorts of interesting bits and pieces with games (yes, I'm getting on a bit...).

Bye!

Then check/post in this thread:

I guess that Linux version on the DVD is still an issue...
