Can't play game 2nd time:crashing

Hoping someone can help. Went to play game a second time on my ipad2 but I can't move beyond the first scene when Josef is getting dumped onto the trash heap.
I've played the game in its entirety without any problems but it will not let me play a second time. I've deleted and reinstalled the game twice.
Any answers or suggestions? Thanks.

Amanita Design's programmer posted this in the iPAD2 > Machinarium for iPad2 Issues thread:  "What about resetting the iPad?..."

And, just before that, JD wrote:  "try to restart your iPad:  Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red 'slide to power off' slider appears, and then slide the slider.  Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the Apple logo appears."

I think what the guys are saying here is that, if you want to play Machinarium without hassles you should cold-start your iPAD and go right into the game (no messing around with other Apps first... go right to the game!)
